Laurence Dubé-Rushby - Installation Artist

Laurence graduated in Fashion Design in 1993 and gained a degree in Fine Art in 1995 at “Universite des Arts Plastiques de Rennes”, in France.

She had her first exhibition of mix-media paintings and sculptures in “Radio France Armorique, in France, in March 1996 and thereafter moved to Ireland to work as a set designer in Cork until the end of the year.

She is now based in Salisbury and has exhibited since then in various galleries and Arts Centres in the South of England and in France, in Solo and shared exhibitions.

She has taken, over the years, many public and private commissions, from a scroll for the Queen on her Jubilee to a wall mounted mix-media installation, memories of an Indian journey for a private client.

She has lead community projects in healthcare settings, Festivals, community centres, schools… in England and France.

She created the SCAM, Salisbury Contemporary Art Marketing in 2001, networking group of Artists, and started a Summer Art Market in Salisbury.

In June 2004, she was commissioned a work on the theme of recycling by the Salisbury International Arts Festival and produced “The Earth –Shed”, an interactive installation.

In October 2004, she exhibited in France again, showing “Entre Deux Terres” in St Nazaire at “Le Fort De Villes”.

In March 2005, she received a Grant for the Art from the Arts Council of England in order to develop her marketing and her network.

In May 2006, she has been invited to be one of 50 artists to be part of the High Profile, “Yew Tree” Art Project by Salisbury Arts Centre.
